Open Payments (unofficial) initial release

Not many people have heard of the Open Payments program. We wanted to bring this data to the mobile community and help provide the intended accountability of the program.

“Open Payments is a federal program, required by the Affordable Care Act, that collects information about the payments drug and device companies make to physicians and teaching hospitals for things like travel, research, gifts, speaking fees, and meals. It also includes ownership interests that physicians or their immediate family members have in these companies.”

With that in mind, we give you the initial release of “Open Payments (unofficial).” This application allows you to find out which drug and device companies are paying your physician or teaching hospital. You can see who’s paying them, when they were payed and how much they were payed.
